Hire Fractional Executives in Poland

Senior leadership for companies in Poland, part-time and on an ongoing basis. Fractional executives based in Poland cover finance, marketing, product, sales, general management and board advisory roles, work remotely, hybrid or on site in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań and the Tricity, and work in English as naturally as in Polish.

THE MARKET

Fractional leadership in Poland

Poland is the largest economy in Central and Eastern Europe and has its own, well-organised market for senior leadership on a time-limited basis. The established term is interim manager (menedżer tymczasowy), with a professional association, the Stowarzyszenie Interim Managers (SIM), that has surveyed the Polish market for more than a decade and co-founded the European INIMA network. The fractional model is the younger sibling and differs in the point that matters to the buyer: the executive owns a function for one to three days a week on an ongoing basis, instead of replacing a full-time role for a defined period. In Poland the difference is smaller than elsewhere, because a large share of interim managers already work part-time; still, say clearly which model you mean when you post a mandate.

Demand follows the economic map. Warsaw holds the headquarters, financial services, fintech, SaaS and the largest startup and investor scene. Kraków combines technology, shared-service centres and a strong university base, Wrocław technology and manufacturing, Poznań industry, logistics and trade fairs, the Tricity around Gdańsk technology, maritime and logistics, and Łódź logistics and business services. The typical buyer is a founder-led company that has outgrown its first management layer, a Polish subsidiary of an international group that needs senior local leadership without a full-time expatriate, or an owner-managed business preparing a succession, an international expansion or a first structured finance, marketing or product function.

On price, the reference point is the association survey. The SIM report on interim management in Poland, based on a survey of Polish interim managers, puts the most common day-rate bracket at EUR 300 to 400 per day, with a fifth of respondents below EUR 300 and a further sixth at EUR 401 to 600, and notes that rates vary widely because the market is still maturing; it also reports that roughly a fifth of active interim managers work part-time and that the most common project length is eleven to twelve months. For comparison, the INIMA European survey 2026 puts the European interim average at EUR 985. Warsaw and international companies pay considerably more than the regions, senior C-level profiles with a specific functional focus sit well above the general market, and ongoing fractional commitments are usually priced below a full-time replacement. Treat every figure as indicative; the honest range depends on the role, the sector and the days per week you need.

Contracting in Poland is straightforward and follows one principle. A fractional executive typically works through a sole proprietorship (jednoosobowa działalność gospodarcza) or their own company under a business-to-business contract (umowa B2B) and invoices per day or per month. The Polish Labour Code (Article 22) treats a relationship as employment, whatever the contract is called, where work is performed personally under the client’s direction, at a place and time set by the client; imposed hours, a fixed desk at the client’s premises, a supervisor issuing instructions, no right to delegate and a single client point to disguised employment, while freedom over how the work is done, own equipment, several clients and genuine economic risk point to a real B2B relationship. From July 2026 the State Labour Inspectorate is expected to be able to reclassify such contracts by administrative decision, which makes clean contracting more important, not less. Well-run mandates settle scope, deliverables and working mode in writing before day one. This is general orientation, not legal or tax advice. Please consult your own legal and tax advisers for your specific situation.

Language and working mode are the easy part. Polish is the business language in domestic companies, English is standard in technology, startups, shared-service centres and international groups, and most fractional executives on Fractionista work in both, often with German as a third language. Hybrid is the default, with a fixed day on site with the leadership team and the rest remote, and Polish executives regularly serve companies in Germany and Western Europe remotely, one hour ahead of London and in the same time zone as Berlin.

WORKING TOGETHER

How companies in Poland use fractional executives

Four situations we see often, and three things to settle before you start.

Good to know

Before you contract in Poland

Remote and cross-border

Poland, Germany and Central Europe

Most fractional mandates in Poland are hybrid, and Polish executives are used to cross-border work in both directions: they serve companies in Germany and Western Europe remotely, and Polish subsidiaries of international groups bring in executives from Germany, Austria or the UK for hybrid mandates. If your company is in Poland but your market is Europe, look at fractional executives across all of Fractionista’s markets rather than only at your own city. If you need someone in the room every week, filter for Poland and hybrid or on-site availability in the list below.

Frequently asked questions

What does a fractional executive cost in Poland?

Fractional executives in Poland are paid by the day or by the month, in złoty or euro, and the figures are best treated as indicative. The report of the Polish interim management association SIM, based on a survey of Polish interim managers, puts the most common day-rate bracket at EUR 300 to 400, with a fifth of respondents below EUR 300 and a further sixth at EUR 401 to 600, and notes that rates vary widely in a market that is still maturing; the European interim average in the INIMA survey 2026 is EUR 985. Warsaw and international companies pay considerably more than the regions, senior C-level profiles with a specific functional focus sit well above the general market, and ongoing fractional commitments are usually priced below a full-time replacement. At one to two days per week this works out to a monthly cost well under a full-time executive salary plus employer contributions, with no notice period beyond what you agree.

Usually as a business-to-business engagement (umowa B2B): the executive works through a sole proprietorship or their own company and invoices per day or per month. The deciding question is whether the relationship is a genuine B2B arrangement. From July 2026 the State Labour Inspectorate is expected to be able to reclassify such contracts by administrative decision. Settle scope, deliverables and working mode in writing before the start. This is general orientation, not legal or tax advice. Please consult your own legal and tax advisers for your specific situation.

Both, in most cases. Polish is the business language in domestic companies, English is standard in technology, startups, shared-service centres and international groups, and most fractional executives on Fractionista work in both, often with German as a third language. The typical working mode is hybrid: a fixed day on site with the leadership team in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań or the Tricity, the rest remote. Marketing, product and technology roles are often fully remote, including for companies in Germany and Western Europe; finance, sales and general management roles more often want regular days on site. Profiles show the collaboration types each executive offers.

You post a mandate in the Fractionista portal describing the situation, the expected days per week and the working mode. Matching executives who are available apply or are proposed, you talk to the ones that fit, and you agree scope and terms directly. Because fractional executives keep a small number of parallel engagements, a start within a few weeks is realistic, considerably faster than a permanent executive search. Fractionista asks every executive to disclose active engagements so conflicts are visible early.

Executives based in Poland cover the range Fractionista places: Fractional CFO, Fractional CMO, Fractional CPO, Fractional CRO and sales leadership, CEO profiles, as well as advisory board members, board members and C-level advisors. Use the role filter in the list above to narrow the Polish pool to one function.

Yes. Fractionista is a European marketplace, with fractional executives across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, Romania, the Nordics and Iberia. Many mandates are cross-border by design, especially between Central Europe and the German-speaking region. Start from the full directory and filter by role or country.
